Thanks to the District’s counselors a number of community members are now better prepared to make decisions for themselves and their families that support sound physical and mental health. This valuable information was made available to families that attended the Annual Healthy Choices Community Awareness Fair that took place the evening of November 5th. The District’s counselors are the ones who organize this annual event.
This year’s Healthy Choices Fair featured a variety of service agencies from around the region. Experts were on hand to talk with families about foster parent programs, prescription medication, suicide prevention and much, much more. The intent of this annual event is to give families an opportunity to connect with these useful social services all under one roof instead of the families having to seek them out on their own. In addition to the valuable information that was available, those who attended also enjoyed a baked salmon dinner prepared by the District’s Food Services Department.
