It is that time of the year again for Wapato Public Schools to update its Title VII Impact Aid Information. Title VII is a grant the District receives from the Federal Government that provides financial support to districts impacted by Federal or Tribal property. Since Federal and Tribal property are not taxable the government provides the grant in lieu of those property taxes. In order for the District to access those funds it must document the number of students living on Federal or Tribal Land, the number of parents working on Federal or Tribal land, and the number of students living in low rent housing.
The District gathers the information each year by sending a survey card home with every student. The yellow cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. The District asks families to fill out one card for each student enrolled in Wapato Public Schools on October 1, 2019. Once the survey cards have been filled out, please sign it and have your students return it to his/her teacher by Friday, October 4, 2019.
